Congressman Addison McDowell has recently used social media to express his views on immigration, law enforcement, and the alleged use of minors in marijuana cultivation. In a series of posts, McDowell criticized state and federal responses to these issues, focusing on concerns about illegal immigration and law enforcement support.

On July 11, 2025, McDowell alleged that California Governor Gavin Newsom supports the employment of undocumented immigrants in marijuana fields, including minors. He stated: “Gavin Newsom wants illegal immigrants working in marijuana fields – many of them minors, likely forced into child labor. Get the kids out of the weed fields. Get the illegal immigrants out of the country. LAW AND ORDER.”

In a subsequent post dated July 12, 2025, McDowell addressed public attitudes toward law enforcement during recent confrontations with protesters. He wrote: “It’s simple – you either stand with law enforcement or the violent THUGS throwing rocks at them. To the men & women protecting our communities from dangerous illegals: President Trump & Republicans will always have your back.”

Later that day, on July 12, 2025, McDowell referenced incidents involving protests and federal agents’ activities related to drug trafficking operations allegedly run by cartels. He posted: “While “peaceful protesters” throw rocks and federal agents dodge literal bullets, those same agents are rescuing minors from cartel-run weed farms. This is the crisis Democrats won’t talk about, the one they’re actively fighting against.”

These statements come amid ongoing debates over immigration policy and law enforcement practices in several U.S. states.
