Congressman Addison McDowell has recently highlighted legislative efforts and policy developments through a series of posts on his official Twitter account. The tweets, published on July 17 and 18, 2025, focus on digital asset legislation and measures to combat fentanyl.
On July 17, McDowell promoted several bills related to the regulation of digital assets. He wrote: “The GENIUS Act, Clarity Act, and Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act lay the foundation for a strong, pro-American digital future. With this framework, we’ll unlock innovation, protect freedom, and make the USA the Crypto Capital of the World. LETS GET IT DONE! “.
Later that day, he expressed appreciation for Chairman French Hill’s leadership regarding one of these initiatives: “Thank you, Chairman @RepFrenchHill, for your leadership on the CLARITY Act. This bill helps establish a strong, pro-growth framework that gives innovators certainty that will bring digital assets back to the U.S. A key step to making America the Crypto Capital of the World.”
On July 18, McDowell turned his attention to drug policy reform: “It was an honor to join President Trump at the White House as he signed the HALT Fentanyl Act into law. This isn’t just policy, it’s personal and a major step toward stopping fentanyl from getting to our communities.”
The GENIUS Act and CLARITY Act are part of ongoing congressional efforts to create regulatory clarity for cryptocurrencies in the United States. These measures aim to encourage innovation while addressing consumer protection concerns associated with digital assets. Similarly, recent federal actions targeting fentanyl reflect bipartisan concern over rising overdose deaths linked to synthetic opioids across American communities.
