Congressman Addison McDowell, who represents North Carolina’s 6th congressional district, recently shared updates on social media about his visits to local businesses and commented on a national issue.
On August 17, 2025, McDowell posted about his visit to a manufacturing facility: “Great to tour Polypore’s manufacturing plant in Concord. Polypore brings high-paying jobs, while building next-generation technology right here in North Carolina’s 6th district. Thanks for showing me around.”
The following day, August 18, he wrote about another visit: “Visited R.J. Reynolds Tobacco with @Sonderling47 , @RepPatHarrigan, and @RepKylehall. The company has been part of Forsyth County for more than 150 years. It was good to hear about their history and the role they continue to play in the community today.”
On August 19, McDowell addressed a different topic regarding public safety and immigration policy: “This monster should’ve never been in our country. Three innocent Americans lost their lives because California politicians prioritize their ideological agenda over public safety. Shame on every last one of them.”
Polypore International is known for its work in advanced battery separator technology and has contributed significantly to employment opportunities in the region through its Concord facility. R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company has operated in Forsyth County since the late nineteenth century and remains a notable presence within the community.
