Carolina University secured a 3-1 victory against Averett in a volleyball match held at the E. Stuart James Grant Center on March 19. Despite losing the first set 25-19, Carolina rallied to win the next three sets with scores of 25-22, 25-22, and 29-27.

Averett started strong, energized by their home supporters, but Carolina responded effectively. Jamison Johnson was instrumental in the comeback, achieving 17 kills and maintaining a .577 hitting percentage. Friedrich Hall added value with his contribution of 14 kills, while Kai Jamerson facilitated the offense with 44 assists.

The second and third sets were tightly contested, each ending in favor of Carolina with identical scores of 25-22. Moses Nix supported the team’s efforts with his performance on both offense and defense.

The fourth set was a tense encounter marked by multiple ties and lead changes before Carolina clinched it at 29-27.

For Carolina University:
– Jamison Johnson achieved 17 kills with a .577 hitting percentage.
– Friedrich Hall recorded 14 kills.
– Kai Jamerson provided 44 assists.
– Moses Nix contributed to the defense with four block assists.

Averett’s Finn Oakley made significant contributions as well, tallying up to 16 kills during the match.

Looking ahead, Carolina University aims to build on this win as they prepare for their upcoming game against Reinhardt on Friday, March 21st.
