Carolina University’s men’s volleyball team faced St. Andrews University on March 11, 2025, at Williams Gymnasium. The Bruins began strong, winning the first set but eventually succumbed to the Knights in a four-set match with scores of 25-27, 25-12, 25-14, and 27-25.

Darren Lowe Gaillard led Carolina with a .818 hitting percentage and nine kills on 11 attempts in the opening set. However, St. Andrews responded by dominating sets two and three, limiting Carolina’s hitting percentage to below .100. Khushpreet Sandhu excelled for the Knights with 17 kills, while Kaleb Middleton added stability through his 30 assists and three service aces.

The fourth set saw Carolina attempting a comeback as they pushed St. Andrews to extra points. Despite efforts from Kai Jamerson with seven digs and Friedrich Hall with three aces, the Bruins narrowly lost the final set.

Key performances included Jashawn Sykes leading Carolina with 17 kills; Gaillard maintaining his impressive hitting; Jamerson contributing 34 assists; and Hall adding seven kills and three service aces. For St. Andrews, Sandhu led all players with his efficient .467 hitting percentage alongside Middleton’s control over tempo.

This defeat leaves Carolina at a season record of 2-10 while giving St. Andrews their first win at 1-8. The Bruins aim to recover in their next match against Bluefield University on Friday, March 14th at home.
