The Carolina University community is mourning the loss of Brian Oakley, a student and member of the university’s baseball team. The university has expressed its sorrow and is calling for prayers for Oakley’s family, friends, teammates, and all who knew him.

A statement from the university reads: “The Carolina University family is heartbroken over the passing of Brian Oakley, a beloved student and member of our Baseball team. As we grieve this loss, we invite our community to join us in prayer for his family, friends, teammates, and all those who knew and loved him. May we come together in faith, lifting them up with love and support.”

In their message of condolence, they included a verse from Psalm 34:18: “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
