Congressman Addison McDowell has recently expressed his concerns and observations on social media regarding various issues, including violence targeting ICE, federal grants for infrastructure, and public disturbances in New York City.
On July 8, 2025, Congressman McDowell addressed the issue of violence against ICE. He described the situation as “horrendous” and urged Democrats to condemn such acts. He referenced a statement by Tom Homan: “We have senators, we have Congress people that compare ICE to the Nazis, to racists, and it just continues!” The congressman emphasized that this rhetoric must cease.
The following day, July 9, 2025, McDowell visited Davidson County Executive Airport to observe how a $1 million federal grant will be utilized. He highlighted the importance of these grants by stating: “These federal grants are vital investments that strengthen our local infrastructure.”
Later on July 9, McDowell commented on disturbances at an airport in New York City. He described a scene where masked individuals were reportedly harassing travelers. The congressman labeled this behavior as “shameful,” noting that it represents “the new normal in NYC.”
