Congressman Addison McDowell has announced the commencement of the 2025 Congressional App Challenge for students in North Carolina’s 6th District. The challenge invites middle and high school students to create their own original apps.
The competition is open to students residing or attending school within the district. Participants can use any programming language for their app development. The deadline for submissions is October 30th, after which a panel of local tech experts will evaluate the entries.
The winner will be awarded a trip to Washington, D.C., where their app will be showcased in the U.S. Capitol. Additionally, they may have the opportunity to seek trademark protection for their design.
