PowerSchool is providing two years of free identity protection services to students and educators affected by a cybersecurity incident earlier this year. Adult students and educators will also receive two years of complimentary credit monitoring services.

PowerSchool has clarified that the data breach occurred through one of their contractors, not due to actions by the district or the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.

The deadline for signing up for these services is May 30.
