Senator Ted Budd, representing North Carolina, has recently addressed several issues impacting his state through a series of posts on his official X account.
On August 11, 2025, Budd highlighted ongoing recovery efforts in Western North Carolina following Hurricane Helene. He stated, “Since Hurricane Helene, repairing WNC’s damaged infrastructure to be stronger & more reliable has been a key component of recovery efforts. I am grateful to @POTUS & @epaleezeldin for ensuring funds to restructure & reinforce the quality of our water systems.”
Later that day, Budd commented on the appointment of Ellis Boyle as interim U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina. In his post dated August 11, 2025, he wrote, “Ellis Boyle is an outstanding choice to serve as interim U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina. He’s no stranger to @DOJgov, and his experience with the NC Department of Public Safety will be critical in keeping violent criminals off the streets.”
On August 12, 2025, Budd turned attention to agricultural labor policy in North Carolina. He posted, “NC farmers need a reliable workforce—not Biden’s costly wage hikes. These rules have driven up labor costs and put the future of many family farms at risk. I’m urging @USDOL to scrap this out-of-touch rule and bring common sense back to ag labor policy.”
Senator Budd’s remarks reflect ongoing concerns within North Carolina about disaster recovery funding and infrastructure resilience following recent severe weather events. The senator also underscored local law enforcement priorities by supporting federal appointments that address crime prevention efforts in the region. In addition, debates over agricultural labor costs have intensified as federal policies regarding farmworker wages have changed under President Biden’s administration.
