Senator Ted Budd has recently expressed his views on various issues through a series of tweets. These tweets cover topics ranging from domestic security concerns to international historical events and fiscal policy.
On June 2, 2025, Senator Budd commented on the recent terror attack in Colorado. He stated, “I am praying for the families of the victims of the Colorado terror attack. This senseless act of violence is a direct result of the Biden administration’s open-border policies and failure to combat antisemitism in our country.” He emphasized that any act of antisemitic violence must be addressed appropriately.
Two days later, on June 4, 2025, Senator Budd reflected on a significant historical event involving China. He remarked, “On June 4, 1989, the Chinese Communist Party crushed peaceful protests in Tiananmen Square. 36 years later, China has built a surveillance state to repress their people & a military to coerce neighbors.” He urged that this anniversary should serve as a reminder of the dangers posed by communism and the importance of valuing freedom.
Later that day, Senator Budd addressed economic concerns by advocating for fiscal responsibility. He tweeted about supporting a rescissions package proposed by President Biden to cut unnecessary spending. He wrote, “We must restore fiscal sanity & eliminate programs that don’t deserve Americans’ hard-earned dollars.” The senator expressed his anticipation for passing this package to save $9 billion in taxpayer funding and support key Department of Government Efforts (DOGE).
Senator Ted Budd is a member of the United States Senate representing North Carolina since January 3, 2023.
