Senator Ted Budd recently shared a series of tweets discussing military initiatives, healthcare policy, and commemorating historical events. The tweets reflect his focus on national defense, Medicaid reform, and honoring American history.
On June 5, 2025, Senator Budd expressed gratitude after hearing from the Secretary of the Army and General George regarding the Army Transformation Initiative and Multi-Domain Task Force being introduced in North Carolina. He emphasized the importance of defense against enemy drones by noting that “after relatively low-tech drones wiped out 1/3 of Russia’s strategic bombers, it’s clear that defense against enemy drones is critical to protecting”.
Later that day, Senator Budd addressed Medicaid reforms in a tweet. He advocated for strengthening and preserving Medicaid for its intended recipients by suggesting measures such as removing illegal immigrants from Medicaid rolls, preventing individuals from receiving benefits in multiple states simultaneously, and implementing work requirements. He stated “We must strengthen & preserve Medicaid for those who it was intended for.”
On June 6, 2025, Senator Budd paid tribute to American troops who participated in a significant military operation during World War II. Reflecting on D-Day’s anniversary, he remarked “81 years ago today, tens of thousands of American troops led one of the most harrowing military assaults in history to protect our freedom & the values we hold dear.” He honored the sacrifices made by what he referred to as “the Greatest Generation.”
The Army Transformation Initiative is a modernization effort aimed at enhancing the capabilities and readiness of the United States Army through innovative strategies and technologies.
