Senator Ted Budd recently addressed various issues through a series of tweets, focusing on emergency response, international diplomacy, and educational legislation.

On July 7, 2025, Senator Budd expressed his gratitude towards first responders dealing with flooding in North Carolina. He stated: “Very grateful for the police officers, firefighters, & all first responders conducting rescues & keeping folks safe during the ongoing flooding in North Carolina. For those in areas under a state of emergency, please follow all warnings & stay away from floodwaters.”

Later that day, he commented on the issue of U.S. hostages held abroad. Budd highlighted efforts by the President to secure their release and specifically mentioned the case of Keith Siegel from North Carolina. He noted: “Since Day 1, @POTUS has prioritized securing the release of U.S. hostages around the world, including Keith Siegel from NC. For 640 days, Hamas has held 50 hostages in Gaza, including 2 Americans. Hamas must release them or face swift consequences.”
