Fifty new jobs are coming to Harnett County, thanks to a multi-million-dollar investment by a company based in Florida.

Pallet Consultants of North Carolina will spend $3.1 million to create a new plant in Dunn.

The new plant was welcomed by Gov. Roy Cooper, who issued a statement in a press release.

“With more than 470,000 workers, North Carolina has the largest manufacturing workforce in the Southeast. We know Pallet Consultants can expand with great confidence in our state’s workforce, economy and quality of life,” the governor said.

Pallet Consultants was founded in 1996. The company makes wooden pallets, provides pallet recycling services and supplies several industries ranging from manufacturing to retail. The company provides pallets to national brands like Pepsi and Home Depot.

“My team and I are excited for the opportunities made available by further expanding into the great state of North Carolina and are thankful for its support,” Pallet Consultants CEO Gus Gutierrez said.

The average salary for the jobs will be about $38,000 a year, the company said.
