Davie1000x667

Davie County issued the following announcement on March 27.

We hope you will find the information links below helpful as we try to compile everything into one place.  This information is not exhaustive by any means, but should save some of you from trying to search multiple sites for information.

Davie County Health and Human Services Director, Suzanne Wright, announced this morning that Davie County has 2 additional lab confirmed cases of COVID-19.  Please click here for more information about this. Ms. Wright also issued a statement yesterday after the county’s second lab confirmed case, noting measures that residents should take to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

North Carolina Governor, Roy Cooper, held a press conference this afternoon and issued Executive Order 121, which is effective on 5pm on Monday until April 29th and includes stay at home provisions. A frequently asked questions document about this Executive Order can be found by clicking here. Please refer all questions about any of the Orders issued to date by the Governor’s Office directly to Raleigh by calling 919-814-2000, or click here to submit a question or comment online.

Residents can click here to see a timeline of events for COVID-19 related activities to better understand the many actions taken to date. The President and NC Governor’s Executive Orders and the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Order of Hazard Abatement supersede the current Davie County State of Emergency Declaration (as the local Emergency Declaration remains unchanged since the last update). Davie County Government will continue to provide essential services to our residents allowable under North Carolina’s Executive Order 121.

It is important to make sure the information you are getting about COVID-19 is coming directly from reliable sources. To see a daily update of confirmed cases in North Carolina, please click here.   Sources recommended by Davie County HHS include the Centers for Disease and Control Prevention (CDC) and NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS).  Davie County has also created a COVID-19 website for residents which has the most up-to-date information. Please click here to be directed to our COVID-19 Resource Page. We have also created a COVID-19 hotline, which is manned by Public Health Nurses at 336-753-6750 or 753-6550.  We encourage you to also follow these Davie County Government social media sites for real-time updates.

Please click here for a list of resources for our local businesses and individuals seeking assistance.  We will continue to update this list as we learn of more resources.

NCDHHS has provided the following guidance and resources for a range of issues for stakeholders including: businesses and employers, public facing agencies, child care centers, colleges and universities, community organizations, faith based organizations, events and mass gatherings, health care providers, schools, long-term care facilities, retail centers, transportation providers, farmers, restaurants, and assisting persons with disabilities.

Click here to see how Davie County Government operations are currently being conducted. Also, our Emergency Operations Center team is working diligently to ensure that preparedness and contingency planning is taking place.

The Board of County Commissioners and I are proud of the Davie County Government staff and community partners who are working tirelessly with state and federal officials in diligently managing this situation.  Together, our community has pulled together to help support our businesses who remain open, find employment opportunities for those who have been impacted by closures, partnered with churches and nonprofits to help those in need, and our school system has done a fabulous job of serving the needs of their children and families.

Let’s continue to focus on the advice the CDC and our Public Health partners have given to assist with the mitigation of COVID-19 in our community. Each of us have an important role in assisting with this goal.
