Lexington Seventh-day Adventist Church recently issued the following announcement.
Our goal is to have 18 donors and currently we have only 7 people who have scheduled appointments for today's blood drive at church gymnasium from 1-4PM. Please make appointments by calling or registering online. Appointments are important so that they can manage the number of people to meet social distancing guidelines.
Blood donation is an essential medical service and as communities feel the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to share with you the steps we’re taking at Kentucky Blood Center to help protect the health and safety of donors, team members, partners, and the community blood supply.
Blood centers are not testing or screening for COVID-19 directly, but do screen all donors to make sure they are healthy and eligible to donate.
All donors should call us or visit us to schedule an appointment so that we can safe maintain social distancing. In order to streamline the process, donors should complete their health history questionnaire online on the day of their donation.
