The Northern Davidson County Chamber of Commerce along with the Davidson County Screen Printing joined the nationwide #HEREFORGOOD movement to assist struggling local businesses.

“With the COVID-19 stay at home orders taking their toll on businesses across the board, many local businesses are trying to find ways to help mitigate some of this issue, not only for themselves but also in some way to help out other small businesses in the community,” the chamber posted to its Facebook page in late April. “The #HEREFORGOOD movement has taken off in a lot of cities across the country and we like the idea of it so we thought we would give it a shot here.”

Davidson County Screen Printing is selling $20 shirts with half of the purchase price supporting a participating business of the customers’ choice, according to the post. Businesses don’t have to pay anything to participate.

“All we ask is that you help us promote the initiative to your customers via social media and word of mouth,” the chamber wrote in the Facebook post. “The plan is to generate a little extra revenue for participating businesses, to ease the burden of these challenging times. It will also help them keep their presses printing and provide a nice shirt for your customers to wear and show their support for small business.”
