In response to COVID-19 restrictions, Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools have moved the graduation ceremonies online and amended requirements to permit students to graduate on a “rolling basis” through June.
The students will receive their diplomas graduate into June, contingent on when they complete course requirements, according to post on winstonsalem.com on May 14.
“In an effort to recognize and honor all graduates and their work in a timely manner, all 16 Winston-Salem/Forsyth County high schools will host a virtual commencement ceremony to recognize the Class of 2020,” the release reads.
A list of the virtual graduation ceremonies — scheduled to be streamed via Cable 2 on the district’s website on Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13 — has also been published on the site.
In the week after the ceremonies, graduates will be able to pick up their diplomas from their schools and be given the opportunity to walk across a stage and take pictures, according to the website.
