Davie County issued the following announcement on Dec. 21.
The Telecommunicator of the Year award is a peer-nominated and decided award that is presented to a 911 operator who has done an exceptional job throughout the year, often going over and above what is required and always maintaining a team spirit.
This year's award is uniquely special as the award has now been named The Robert "Bob" Cook 911 Telecommunicator of the Year Award. Bob Cook was a 911 operator who passed away earlier in the year, and the department felt that a way to keep his legacy alive was to name the award in his honor.
The Robert "Bob" Cook 911 Telecommunicator of the Year Award was presented to Nathan Williams, Bob Cook's former partner. Nathan was awarded this by the staff and is recognized as a dedicated and hardworking team member said Rodney Pierce, Davie County 9-1-1 Communications Director.
As the first link in the chain of Public Safety, it is the mission of Davie County 911 Communications to provide courteous, trustworthy and professional service to the citizens and visitors of Davie County, and Nathan Williams does just that.
