Davie County Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
Christmas is just around the corner, and as kids are finally getting out of school, what better way to spend your time this season than to be with family and friends at local fun-filled festivities. These are some upcoming events that are sure to have you in a merry mood!
Davie Cognition – Laser Cut Ornaments
Join Davie Cognition on December 15th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to craft magnificent laser-cut ornaments with your own drawn design! All ages are welcome, and required registration for this event can be found here. The cost of attendance is $10.
Trivia at the Station – Downtown Mocksville
The holiday season is the most wonderful time for family trivia! On December 16th, The Station will be hosting Christmas Trivia from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This is the final trivia night of the season, with trivia returning next in the springtime. This event is open to the public, so come out and test your Yuletide knowledge.
Kids’ Movie Night – Davie County Public Library
The Davie County Public Library will be showing Prep & Landing for Kids’ Movie Night on December 16th at 6:00 p.m. in the multipurpose room. North Davie Pep Band Live Music – Downtown Mocksville
The North Davie Pep Band will be filling Mocksville streets with magnificent music and melodies on December 17th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. While you are out shopping or enjoying food at local restaurants, you can take the time to indulge in classical Christmas pieces.
Chowdown Challenge: Ugly Christmas Sweater Cookies – Davie County Public Library
Get creative this week at the Davie County Public Library as Ms. Karen will be hosting a cookie decorating contest for kids of all ages on December 17th at 1:30 p.m. The cookies are in the shape of sweaters, and youth will be able to decorate them with all sorts of colors and toppings to make their own ugly sweater creation!
In addition to the decorating contest, participants who wear ugly Christmas sweaters will be entered for a chance to win a prize! Registration for this event is available here. Cookies will be posted on the public library’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
Teen Movie Night – Davie County Public Library
The Davie County Public Library will be showing Elf for Teen Movie Night on December 17th at 3:00 p.m. in the multipurpose room. Be sure to wear your ugly Christmas sweaters, as those who do will be entered for a chance to win a prize!

Town of Cooleemee’s Christmas Parade
Returning for the 2021 Holiday Season is the Town of Cooleemee’s Christmas Parade! The parade will be held on December 18th at 2 p.m. Onlookers can enjoy the parade and have pictures taken with Santa afterwards on the front porch of the Zachary House. Participants for the parade will line up at 1 p.m. at Cooleemee Elementary School.
Meet Santa & Mrs. Claus and Holiday Music with the Davie Community Band – Downtown Mocksville
It would not be Christmas without Santa and Mrs. Claus coming out for a visit. Join in on the fun times and Christmas cheer on December 18th from 1-4 p.m. at Main Street Park in Mocksville.
To join the Claus’ will be Barry Rentz and his Mobile Jukebox playing your favorite holiday tunes during this wonderful outing.
Afterward, the Davie Community Band will be strolling through Downtown Mocksville playing your favorite holiday classics from 6-7 p.m. An evening outing in downtown Mocksville will be filled with festivity as this group of talented musicians serenades the streets.
Christmas Tree Circuitry – Davie Cognition
Davie Cognition will be holding a circuitry learning lab on December 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. open to kids and adults of all ages! Attendants will get to create their own Christmas tree circuit complete with colorful LEDs. Registration for this event is available here. The cost of attendance is $10.
Cardboard Christmas Tree – Davie Cognition
The Christmas Tree Construction Lab is another Davie Cognition event you won’t want to miss. It will be held on December 22nd from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is open to kids ages 8 and up. Children will get to build their own Christmas tree from cardboard and decorate it to their heart’s content. Registration for this event is available here. The cost of attendance is $5.
Holiday Baking Workshop – Davie County Center 4H
Davie County 4-H will be hosting a sweet and savory baking workshop that is sure to knock your stockings off! The workshop will be held on December 29th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m at the Davie County Center. This event is for youth ages 10 to 18 years old, and all must be enrolled online here.
