Building Women, Building Community Conference, February 11– Register Now!

Conference 1000

Davie County Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

The Building Women, Building Community women’s leadership conference will be held on February 11th from 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. at WinMock at Kinderton in Bermuda Run.

Co-sponsored by the Davidson-Davie Community College Small Business Center and the Davie County Chamber of Commerce, Building Women, Building Community is designed to embrace the power of women to encourage confidence and develop strategies to increase business impact and sales.

“The Building Women, Building Community conference was born out of the philosophy that ‘if you educate women you educate outwards,’” said Martha Larson, director of the Small Small Business Center. “Women tend to be givers and want to build their community. This conference has been a wonderful event in the past, and we are looking forward to this year’s event.”

Davie County Chamber of Commerce President Caroline Moser remarked, “We love partnering with our Small Business Center. This program is a great opportunity for women to grow both professionally and personally.”

The conference features talented speakers from across the state who will lead workshops to encourage confidence and develop strategies to increase business impact and sales, giving you a competitive advantage in today’s volatile market.

Larson is excited about a unique opportunity offered through this year’s conference. “We’ve arranged for each participant to have the option to have a free one-on-one time with our business coaches. This lets you get discussion and actual action planning on implementing some of the tools learned the day of the conference. So many times we attend conferences, and we say, ‘this sounds great, and I know exactly what I am going to do,’ and then we get home, and we don’t really know what to do. This will be a great way to reinforce what is learned and to help forge relationships.”

Featured business coach, Dawn McGee, echoed that sentiment “I know I have gone to conferences and gotten all pumped up and thought, ‘Wow, I am going to do this, and that.’ We may have a list of three things we want to implement, and then life happens, and we put it on the shelf, and nothing happens.

McGee explained that the follow-up session with a business coach will bridge the gap and help attendees put a plan together implementing the new tools.  “At the event, both in person and virtually, you are going to have the opportunity to network with some phenomenal women. I really like the idea of offering the business coaching because you can have that follow-up with someone you have connected with and begun to build a relationship with. You may choose to continue working with that person or not, but they can help hold you accountable. It’s pretty exciting!”

The Building Women, Building Community conference is a hybrid event that offers women the option to attend in person or virtually.
