Davidson College recently issued the following announcement.
It’s Random Acts of Kindness Day. No one does “kind” better than the Davidson community. We care for, and about, each other and our students. In the long slog of the past two years, “kind” has never been more important, and it hasn’t always been easy. So today, we celebrate and encourage each other with Random Acts of Kindness.
Some planned opportunities to connect and share a kind word or note include:
- 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m., donuts and hot beverages in the Lilly Family Gallery. While you’re there, we hope you will fill out a card about someone or something that’s made a difference for you.
- Visit the Art Cart in the Alvarez College Union, and stations in the E.H. Little Library, Lilly Gallery, and Vail Commons to create messages of kindness and gratitude
- Look out for students around campus sharing their musical talents
- Take a Chaplain’s Office-sponsored golf cart ride “up the hill”
- Check out the pop up exhibit of books about kindness in the lobby of E.H. Little Library, and create a bookmark with words of kindness (these will be randomly placed in books throughout the library)
Look out for social media posts and check back to this page, where we’ll post highlights from the day. Use #CatsAreKind to add to the conversation on social media.
