On Monday night, March 28, 2022, NCDOT contractors plan to begin work on the I-40 pavement rehabilitation project between NC 801 and Pinebrook School Road in Davie County (I-6003). The contractor will utilize nightly lane closures in the WESTBOUND direction between mile post 179 and mile post 176 for shoulder construction. These lane closures will be installed between 7 pm and 7 am.
On Monday, April 4, 2022, the contractor will install a 45-day lane closure in the westbound direction to complete concrete slab repairs and patching. Once this work is complete, the contactor will perform the same operation in the eastbound direction. This initial repair work is needed to prepare for milling and resurfacing of this section of I-40. The project completion date is November 1, 2022.
Motorists should expect traffic delays during morning and afternoon peak hours. As always, weather conditions could affect these schedules.
