Davie County Register of Deeds, along with Davie County Veterans’ Services, will be kicking-off a new program later this fall called “Thank a Vet” for our local service members. Upon a veteran recording his or her DD-214 military discharge form (free of charge) at the Register of Deeds Office, the veteran will receive a photo discount card that entitles him or her to a discount or “freebie” at participating Davie County businesses. Showing the “Thank a Vet” discount card would be a requirement to qualify for any discount or incentive provided at your establishment. This “Thank a Vet” program is a great way to incentivize military personnel to record their DD-214 forms plus it gives your business some county-wide free advertisement with the anticipation that the veterans (and their families) will visit your place of business, buy local goods, and use local services.
We would like to offer you an opportunity to show your appreciation to our veterans by participating in this countywide program. Discounts may be a certain percentage off the total sale, a specific monetary amount off, or you may want to offer some sort of freebie to the veteran. Enrollment will be on an on-going basis, and we would ask that you give our office 30 days written notice if you plan to withdraw from the program. Additionally, if you are already offering some sort of discount to veterans, please complete this form and return it to my office so that your name will appear on our list of participating businesses.
A comprehensive list of participating businesses (with their respective discount or freebie) will be available on the Davie County Register of Deeds’ website, the Davie County Veterans’ Services website, the Davie Chamber of Commerce website, and will be handed out in paper form to each veteran upon receiving his or her discount card from the Register of Deeds Office.
