Of the 18,970 people living in Lexington in 2020, 50.8 percent (9,643) were women and 49.2 percent (9,327) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the South Winston Salem News.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by 286. In the 65 and over age range, there were 1,712 females and 1,330 males.
