Interim Davie County Manager, Mike Ruffin, announced that Development and Facility Services has become two departments: Development Services and General Services. Brad Blackwelder will be the director of General Services, which includes capital projects and facilities maintenance. Development Services, which includes inspections and planning, will be seeking a new director soon.
Brad attended Davie High and received a B.S. in Business Administration from UNC-Asheville. He has been employed with Davie County since 2014, serving as a Real Property Appraiser and then as the Capital Project Manager/Analyst.

I would like to thank the County Board of Commissioners and County Management for investing in my development and growth over the past eight years. It is also an honor to be working with a great facilities staff to continue to provide the employees and citizens of Davie County with safe and accommodating facilities to work and carry out county functions.”
Brad and his wife Deanna have two girls, Mallory and Norah, and reside in Davie County.
