Register now for the Main Street Mocksville Superhero Sprint and Main Street 5K coming up on November 11th and 12th. These action-packed events will allow kids and adults alike to get up, get out, and get moving together!
The Superhero Sprint
To kick off the weekend, the Superhero Sprint will be held on Friday, November 11th, at 142 N. Main Street. Kids aged 2 to 12 will have the opportunity to don their own superhero costumes and sprint to the finish line! The race runs the length of Main Street and is approximately 0.25 miles long.

Packet pick-up starts at 4 p.m. and the race begins at 6 p.m . Pricing and registration are also available online here. IMPORTANT NOTE: Event Day registration is not guaranteed, so please register early! The first 150 registrants will receive a custom superhero cape! Although volunteers will be present, parents are welcome to run alongside their children and are expected to pick them up from the finish line at the south end of Main.
The Main Street 5K
Following the spectacular Superhero Sprint, the Main Street 5K will be held on Saturday, November 12th, starting at 185 N. Main Street. This event serves as a way to recognize our first responders, medical personnel, and other frontline workers who serve the public every day.
Packet pickup starts at 7:30 a.m., and the race begins at 10 a.m. Pricing and registration are also available online here. The race’s route runs from Main Street down to the Rich Park trails and finishes up at the corner of Main and Depot. Participants are welcome to join in on the after-run social at The Station for awards, refreshments, and live entertainment.
Main Street Mocksville’s Origins and Mission
Founder, Alison Hartman, got the inspiration for Main Street Racing Mocksville after she and her husband ended up downtown on the night of the bed races. “ As soon as I saw the scene on Main Street, I felt like Main Street Mocksville was a perfect fit for one of our Main Street Half Marathon events,” said Hartman, who started the event in 2019. Last year the event was changed from a half-marathon to a 5K.
Hartman had worked in New Jersey organizing Main Street Marathons and wanted to bring the passion for health and human achievement to downtown Mocksville in the form of community racing events.
“The mission behind our Main Street events is to celebrate the amazing Main Street, USAs that make our communities great, the businesses that support them and help them flourish, and the people that inhabit and visit them to give life to the community,” said Hartman. “From the parks to the greenway, to Main Street and beyond, join us as we celebrate the beautiful town of Mocksville and so many of the local superheroes (front-line workers) who help keep this community healthy, safe, and thriving!”
Davie County GO FAR Beneficiary of This Year’s Event
For each event, Main Street Mocksville chooses a charity that aligns with its message to donate to. This year, Davie County GO FAR will receive the net proceeds of these events. GO FAR is a national program designed to help 2nd – 5th-grade students develop healthy lifestyle habits while training for a 5K race. GO FAR is a 100% volunteer-based organization and is offered at elementary schools throughout Davie County twice each school year – once in the fall and once in the spring. Since 2012, hundreds of kids have participated in the Davie County GO FAR program. Last year, 219 students and parents with the program signed up for the Main Street 5K race.
Davie County GO FAR also supports and runs many local 5K race events and raises money during the training seasons to support other local charities. “It has always been our goal that any and all children can have the opportunity to participate in GO FAR, no matter their family’s financial situation,” said Jessica Miller, director. “We offer scholarships that pay for 100% of the program fee for any child who requests it. We also partner with our local races to cover race registration fees for any child who needs assistance. We have many local businesses who graciously sponsor our program each year. Their support is essential in allowing us the opportunity to continue having GO FAR in Davie County and to provide financial assistance for those who need it. It is our goal to give back and assist our GO FAR families and local communities in any way possible.”

Davie County GO FAR has a goal of awarding a scholarship to a graduating Senior from Davie High School and being the beneficiary of the Main Street 5K will be incredibly helpful in helping us be able to do this.
