Save, Support, and Celebrate This Holiday Season! Shop Small Business Saturday, November 26th

There are only 33 shopping days left until Christmas, and your local merchants are ready to help you find that perfect gift for all of the special people on your list!  In celebration of Small Business Saturday on November 26th, many of our small businesses will be offering special sales, giveaways, refreshments, and extended hours. Check out the Davie Chamber’s Davie Deals page and your favorite business’s website or Facebook page to learn more.

Small Business Saturday is an American shopping holiday developed by American Express and held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving in the United States to remind people to think big by shopping small during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year.

“Shopping where you live is like giving a present to your friends, neighbors, and even yourself,” said Chamber President Caroline Moser. “When we choose to purchase goods and services in the community where we live, we are investing in the well-being of our community and creating a more prosperous place to live.”

It’s Practical

Gift shopping is essential. No one wants to be the one to explain why Santa couldn’t visit this year. Given the headaches involved with traveling to large urban centers for Christmas shopping—tangled traffic, scarce parking, and interminable checkout lines, shopping locally saves time and money.

More Fun – Less Stress

Anticipation Schmanticipation- life has enough uncertainty! When you buy in person, you don’t have to wait (shipping delays!) or worry about what an item REALLY looks like. Is it as big as it looks online? Is the fit going to be right? What about the colors? Every computer screen looks different – remember the dress controversy? Yikes! When you see an item yourself, those fears melt away, and the only thing you have to wait for is the look on their face when they unwrap the perfect gift.

A Personal Touch

There is nothing like the personal touch you experience when working with local boutiques and businesses. They know quality merchandise, and they are staking their small-town reputations on providing you with only the best they have to offer in products and services. The brands you love, plus out-of-the-ordinary gift choices and specialty items along with personalized services, you won’t get from big-box stores or online.

Shared Values & Shopping Small

Local business owners care about the things you care about. They live in our neighborhoods and share the same values. They give back to our communities. They are the ones who donate to your kids’ schools and send items to the humane society and the local food pantries. They are there for you day in and day out. Supporting local boutiques and businesses feels good and shows that you are a pretty smart shopper!
