Davie County Senior Services is excited about the upcoming 30th season of Davie County Senior Games. The Senior Games Local Coordinator’s conference was held Wednesday, January 11-Thursday January 12 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. Your Senior Games Co-Coordinator and SilverArts Coordinator, Carrie Miller, attended the conference and was chosen out of 53 different games to speak about Davie County’s marketing and publicity efforts. The conference was two days of learning about the keys to success for your Senior Games programs. At the conference, Davie County received the “Thrived in Five” award, sharing that Davie County has had 10% growth over the past five years. This year, Davie County Senior Services is encouraging every resident of Davie County that is 50 years or better to please come out and join the Senior Games program. There is something fun for everyone to become involved in – from sewing to shuffleboard! The Senior Games Kickoff will be held on Friday, February 17 at the Senior Services Brock Recreation Center. To learn more about the Davie County Senior Games and SilverArts programs, call 336-753-6230.
