Carolina University splits doubleheader against Paine College

Carolina University Softball hosted a doubleheader against Paine College's Lions in Clemmons, NC. The first game was narrowly won by the Lions with a score of 1-0. However, the Bruins turned the tables in the second game, securing a decisive victory with a score of 10-2 in just five innings.

In Game 1, Madison Hamilton pitched for seven innings for Carolina University, achieving seven strikeouts and committing only one error. Grace Johnson contributed significantly by recording nine putouts.

The Bruins gained momentum in Game 2 after the Lions scored one run at the bottom of the first inning. Grace Johnson hit a home run over the left field wall, setting an early tone for her team. By the end of the first inning, the Bruins led 3-1.

In the second inning, Johnson singled and ZyMaijah Thomas hit a triple that brought Johnson back to home plate, earning an RBI. Thomas then stole home plate to add another run for Carolina University, ending the second inning with a 5-1 lead.

The Bruins added four more runs in the fourth inning. Alexis Wynne and Danielle Brooks both hit doubles during this time. Kalea Bolch further extended their lead with a home run over the left field fence, adding three RBIs to her team's tally.
