Carolina University Women's Basketball team faced a narrow defeat against Toccoa Falls College in an overtime game held at Williams Gymnasium. The match, which took place on December 7, saw the Bruins initially taking the lead. However, a strong comeback by the Screaming Eagles in the third quarter set up a thrilling conclusion.
Beyonce Jones of Carolina University hit a crucial three-pointer that pushed the game into overtime. Despite this effort, Toccoa Falls emerged victorious with a final score of 77-76.
Shamya Loman stood out for the Bruins, recording 19 points along with twelve rebounds, four steals, and two assists. DenAsia Mitchell was close to achieving a triple-double with her performance of 17 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. Bianca Gonzalez and Beyonce Jones each contributed eleven points to their team's tally, while Azaria Landry added ten points.
Looking ahead, the Lady Bruins are scheduled for two away games this weekend. They will compete against NCCAA South Region rival Paine College on Saturday, December 9. Following that match-up, they will face NCAA Division I opponent Winthrop University in an exhibition game on Sunday, December 10.
