Carolina University Women's Volleyball team celebrated Senior Night with a victory over Regent University. The match, held in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, saw the Bruins defeat the Royals in four sets with scores of 25-13, 26-24, 22-25, and 25-22.
In the opening set, the Bruins quickly took control. Nicole Leazza contributed to this early lead with consecutive service aces. The Royals struggled against the aggressive serves from Carolina University.
The second set was more competitive. Although the Bruins initially maintained their lead, Regent made a significant push to close the gap. However, strong offensive plays helped Carolina reclaim their advantage. Hayley Stull was notable in this set with four kills and seven overall for the match. The set ended with errors from Regent giving Carolina a narrow win at 26-24.
The third set was closely contested as both teams exchanged leads multiple times. Rebecca Walker led the defense with 24 digs while Courtney Smith added four more. Despite these efforts, Regent's blocking proved challenging for Carolina and they lost this set 22-25.
In the final set, Kamra King played an essential role by recording 22 assists which helped secure a win for Carolina at 25-22. Additionally, Rebecca Walker achieved her milestone of reaching her 1000th career dig during this game.
Carolina University's next match is scheduled against Ferrum College on October 26th at 1:00 PM.
