Carolina University women's basketball wins home opener against Virginia University

Carolina University Women's Basketball team opened their home season with a victory against Virginia University of Lynchburg. The game, held in Winston-Salem, NC, saw the Bruins overcoming a challenging start.

The first quarter ended with the Dragons leading 20-9 as the Bruins struggled to find their rhythm. However, by the third quarter, Carolina University had regained momentum and tied the score before taking a lead of 62-47.

In the final quarter, they maintained their advantage and secured a win with a final score of 67-61. A key player was Shantazia Gordon, who achieved her second double-double of the season with 14 rebounds and 12 points. Carley Bolden and Bianca Gonzales also contributed significantly by scoring 12 points each.

The team's next game is scheduled for Wednesday, October 30th at home against Truett-McConnell University at 5:00 PM.
