Wake Forest University issued the following announcement on Sept. 13.
U.S. News and World Report’s 2022 Best Colleges guide ranked Wake Forest University 28th overall among 391 national universities.
For 26 years, Wake Forest has been ranked in the top 30 in the national universities category.
“I am pleased that Wake Forest has once again been recognized among the top universities in the nation,” said Wake Forest President Susan R. Wente. “Striving for excellence in teaching, research and mentoring is essential and at the core of our academic mission. We have great faculty across our university who take the call to educate and discover seriously, and I am grateful that our collective commitment to a high standard of teaching and learning has been recognized.”
As in past years, Wake Forest was ranked in the top 25 among national universities on the Best Values list. The list is based on a combination of academic quality and the cost of attendance for students who receive need-based financial aid. The University was also ranked 29th for best undergraduate teaching.
This year’s guide highlights the low student/faculty ratio (11 to 1) and the small classes that characterize the Wake Forest academic experience. Half of undergraduate classes at Wake Forest have fewer than 20 students, and only one percent of Wake Forest’s classes have more than 50 students, the lowest of any top-30 school.
The Wake Forest School of Business undergraduate program was ranked 41st.
In rankings focused on distinctive programs, Wake Forest’s accounting program (36th) and study abroad program (33rd) were also rated highly.
