Town of Bermuda Run recently issued the following announcement.
ALL BIDDERS SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL APPLICABLE LAWS REGULATING THE PRACTICE OF GENERAL CONTRACTING AS CONTAINED IN CHAPTER 87 OF THE GENERAL STATUTES OF NORTH CAROLINA. FOR CONTRACTS $30,000 OR MORE, EXCEPT FOR CERTAIN SPECIALTY WORK AS DETERMINED BY THE LICENSING BOARD, BIDDERS ARE REQUIRESD TO BECOME LICENSED BY THE NC LICENSING BOARD. NON-LICENSED BIDDERS ARE PERMITED 60 DAYS AFTER BID OPENING TO OBTAIN PROPER LICENSING FOR THE TYPE OF PROJECT BEING LET. BIDDERS SHALL ALSO COMPLY WITH ALL OTHER APPLICABLE LAWS REGULATING THE PRACTICES OF ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING AND REFRIGERATION CONTRACTING AS CONTAINED IN CHAPTER 87 OF THE GENERAL STATUTES OF NORTH CAROLINA.
Sealed bids for the construction of The Bermuda Run Blue Heron Trail will be received by the Town of Bermuda Run, in the Town Manager’s Office in Town Hall located at 120 Kinderton Blvd, Suite 100 Bermuda Run, NC 27006 until 10:00 am on the 9th day of November 2021, then publicly opened in the commissioners meeting room and read aloud. Mark “Town of Bermuda Run, Blue Heron Trail” on the outside of the bid envelope.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Work will include the construction of approximately 5,400 lf of new 10’ wide asphalt multi use trail with pedestrian bridge, pedestrian culvert improvements and various stormwater improvements in Bermuda Run, NC.
A 5% Bid Bond is required with the bid in the form of cash, Certified Check from a bank or trust company insured by the FDIC or Bid Bond. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 90 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
The contractor shall comply with the Department of Labor Safety and Health Regulations for construction promulgated under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (PL91-596) and under Section 107 of the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act (PL91-54), or latest revisions.
Minority owned and female owned business enterprises are encouraged to bid.

The Town of Bermuda Run reserves the right to waive any informalities and to reject any or all bids.
