Winston-Salem, NC - Beginning year three of this coaching staff, Head Coach Chelsea Jones and Assistant Coach Elly Hicks Davis are determined to begin their NAIA debut on a high note. After wrapping up their last season with a 21-9 record, an appearance in the NCCAA South Region Championship, and placing several players on the South Region All-Region Team, the Blue and Gold are eager for another run at a championship appearance, having only graduated four seniors with ten returners.

After a disappointing loss in the Regional Championship last year, the team is determined to change the narrative. The Bruins are up against a demanding schedule and will require every member to be dedicated to the same mission and push for the same goal.

Notable returners for the Bruins include Graduate Student captains Kamra King and Rebecca Walker. King, named to the NCCAA South All-Region First Team holds the all-time assist record for Carolina University. Walker is returning as a dynamic defensive leader the team relies on to get the job done. Offensively, Sarahelizabeth Samuels was the leading scorer for the team in her debut season and looks to add more during her Sophomore campaign.

"The spring was a great time to fine-tune our skills and grow not only as a team but as individuals," Head Coach Chelsea Jones stated. "Last year ended extremely disappointing, but the girls are ready to get back out there. Building team unity is our top priority, and doing so early is imperative for long-term success."

The Bruins will host their annual Blue & Gold Scrimmage in Williams Gymnasium on August 21st before kicking off their season. Check out the full schedule online at www.cubruins.com.
