As the Carolina University men's volleyball team prepares for the upcoming season, anticipation surrounds the program's new direction under head coach Jake Boldog. This marks Boldog's first year leading the team and his debut as a collegiate head coach. He aims to create a solid foundation with a mix of veteran leadership and promising newcomers.

A key match on their schedule is against North Greenville University on March 8th. "Being my alma mater and best friends with the head coach, not to mention North Greenville being a D2 program that's already proven itself as a strong contender in the Conference Carolinas, I definitely have this game circled on the calendar," said Boldog.

Despite high expectations, Boldog stresses growth and development. "Coming into the year with a new coaching staff and a new group of guys, we have only two players who have played together before," he stated. The goal is to establish what Carolina men's volleyball should represent in future seasons.

The team's evolving culture embraces improvement each day. "We want to come in and work behind the scenes, where no one can see, so that when we step onto the court in front of our fans, we're ready to put on a show," said Boldog.

Key returning players Wesley Diggs and Fritz Hall are expected to play vital roles. "Wesley and Fritz not only bring veteran presence, but they have really stepped into leadership roles this year," said Boldog.

Moses Nix is anticipated to make an impact as an opposite-side hitter due to his strong work ethic. "Moses is someone who's been putting in the work behind the scenes, and if he continues to develop, he's going to surprise a lot of people," noted Boldog.

Newcomers Ja'Shawn Sykes and Jamison Johnson also show promise. "From day one, both Ja'Shawn and Jamison have come into the gym with the right attitude," said Boldog.

As they approach the season, focus remains on building cohesion within the team. Players are eager to demonstrate their capabilities on court. "We're excited to show what we're capable of this season," concluded Boldog.

With experienced leaders alongside fresh talent, Carolina University's men's volleyball team looks forward to establishing success now and for years ahead.
