Carolina University splits doubleheader against Pikeville Bears

Carolina University Baseball played a doubleheader against the University of Pikeville Bears on Wednesday. The Bruins lost the first game 2-8 but made a strong comeback in the second, winning 11-1.

In the first game, the Bruins managed to score two runs between the third and fifth innings. Alexiel Delgado contributed with an RBI through a sacrifice fly, allowing Elias Nurideen to score. Paxton Tucker also earned an RBI by bringing Avery Adams home. Adam Conrad pitched four innings and recorded five strikeouts for the Bruins.

During the second game, Carolina University took an early lead and maintained it throughout. By the bottom of the second inning, they were ahead 4-1. In the top of the third inning, with bases loaded, Alexiel Delgado hit a double into left field, earning two RBIs. Paxton Tucker followed with a single that brought in two more runners. The game concluded after seven innings with an 11-1 victory for Carolina University.

Paxton Tucker had four RBIs in total during Game 2, while Jacob Ananias recorded six putouts (POs). Caden Ross was credited as the winning pitcher for this match and now holds a record of 3-0.

The Bruins are scheduled to play next Tuesday, April 2nd, against St. Andrews University Knights in a nine-inning game at 2:00 PM.
