Carolina University's women's volleyball team faced Toccoa Falls in a regional matchup on September 15 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The Bruins, now holding a record of 5-3, dominated the game against their NCCAA South Region opponent, who entered the match with an 8-3 record.
The Bruins established control early by taking an 11-0 lead in the first set and continued to maintain their advantage throughout the match. They secured victories in both the first and third sets with scores of 25-14. Although Toccoa Falls offered more resistance in the second set, Carolina University emerged victorious with a score of 25-22.
Kamra King played a pivotal role for the Bruins, contributing 14 assists and achieving a game-high of five aces. SarahElizabeth Samuels also delivered an impressive performance, leading her team with 11 kills.
"Today was truly a team effort," stated Head Coach Chelsea Jones. "We have been waiting for the pieces to come together and I feel as if today we played like the team we have all been waiting for. It's not only a win in the record books, but also a huge win in seeing what the future holds for this team."
Looking ahead, Carolina University will travel to Asheville on September 19 to compete against Warren Wilson.
