Carolina University has secured its place in the conference championship following a 74-61 victory over Northern New Mexico. The game took place at Coffin Complex, where Carolina showcased strong shooting and defense, particularly in the second half.

During the first half, Carolina maintained a slight lead. Aundree Polk was instrumental early on, scoring and rebounding effectively to keep his team ahead. Chris High contributed with two three-pointers that extended their lead. Despite committing six turnovers, Carolina's defense limited Northern New Mexico to 37% shooting and just one successful three-pointer out of seven attempts. By halftime, Carolina led 32-27.

In the second half, Carolina improved their offensive performance by shooting 50% from the field. Chris High added three more three-pointers to increase their advantage. Davon Cottle also made significant contributions with two key three-pointers that prevented Northern New Mexico from closing the gap. Defensively, Carolina forced crucial turnovers and held their opponents to 42.9% shooting.

Key players included Aundree Polk with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists; Chris High with 20 points including five three-pointers; and Davon Cottle with 13 points including three three-pointers. Overall, Carolina shot 43.6% from the field and 36.7% from beyond the arc while holding Northern New Mexico to a lower shooting percentage and forcing them into making 14 turnovers.

Looking ahead, Carolina University will compete against either Arkansas Baptist College or Spartanburg Methodist College for the championship title at 7 PM on Sunday, March 2.
