Carolina University Men's Soccer team opened their regular season with a commanding 7-0 victory against Johnson University on August 23 in Bermuda Run, NC. The match saw the Bruins dominate both offensively and defensively.

Luke Spillane-Davis scored early in the second minute, marking his first of two goals during the game. Karell Buitendijk also contributed significantly with two goals. Nathan Rue played a pivotal role by scoring twice and assisting both of Spillane-Davis' goals. Newcomer Luigi Piccoli added to the scoreline with his first goal for the Bruins.

The team's defense was equally strong, preventing any goals from Johnson University throughout the match.

"It was a good all-around performance from the whole team," said Head Coach Craig Golding. "It was nice to score early just to set the tone for the rest of the 90 minutes. We're just trying to take it one game at a time, and we have another tough one on Sunday."

Buitendijk commented on the team's performance: "Today was a good performance from the team," he said. "Obviously got the three goals early, and then the clean sheet defensively."

The Bruins are scheduled to face Emory & Henry on Sunday, August 27, marking their first away game of the season.
